  • REAL PEOPLE! REAL STORIES! THIS IS ME! – This is the new creative campaign of the CBMP which features everyday people telling their stories about how they LIVE UP in the face of HIV. This new campaign reinforces the point that everyone can be a hero and everyone can LIVE UP. CBMP member stations will receive 11 new vibrant TV PSAs and 8 energetic radio stingers as part of the new LIVE UP: This is Me campaign kit. The entire campaign is music driven to capture the energy and tones of the Caribbean, but above all it is real as viewers and listeners will recognize themselves in those sharing their experiences. • CBMP/UNESCO INTERACTIVE TOOL - Caribbean broadcasters now have at their fingertips an online interactive tool to aid them in HIV research as well as to empower them to produce accurate and innovative HIV programming. This online tool was launched on November 30th at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Jamaica. The CBMP developed the tool with the financial and technical support of the UNESCO Kingston Cluster Office for the Caribbean. The Interactive tool was created specifically for regional broadcasters to enhance their ability to produce and disseminate accurate content on HIV and AIDS in the region. The tool is easily accessible as it is now a permanent part of the CBMP’s LIVE UP website (www.iliveup.com).
  • ON THE ROAD AGAIN! – The CBMP continued its LIVE UP Roadshow initiative taking the LIVE UP Campaign to members in Grenada and St. Maarten. Staff from member stations in these two territories got the opportunity to interact with the CBMP Executive Director as well as representatives from their local HIV/AIDS Commissions and Ministries of Health as they sought creative ways of embracing the LIVE UP campaign within their own programming. To date, over 200 staff from 7 member territories have participated in the CBMP LIVE UP Roadshow initiative. Jamaica, Barbados, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and St. Maarten have all participated in the LIVE UP Roadshow. Remember - look out for when the CBMP Roadshow will be visiting your station!
  • HEROES OF HAITI LIVING UP – Having successfully launched their Heroes Campaign this year, Haiti is indeed LIVING UP with the enthusiasm and hard work of its Heroes. The official sponsor of the event was Digicel who provided shirts for all as well as phone prizes for the top finishers. The Red Cross and the Boy Scouts were on hand to provide first aid at the event. This marathon is slated to become an annual event to promote healthy living to all no matter your HIV status. The Heroes were also on hand to participate in the Haiti Roadshow where they met with broadcast members to speak about the ANNVIV (LIVE UP) campaign and the strategy of promotion to sensitize the population of the town of St. Marc. “Live Wire” salutes the ANNVIV Heroes, their enthusiasm and their hard work!

The CBMP demonstrated this most effective principle during the recent LIVE UP Heroes Roadshow where local Commissions, Ministries of Health and foundations were invited to participate as presenters during the event.
  • THE HEROES AMONG US - We often look to celebrities and people in the spotlight as our role models and heroes. They seem larger than life and occupy a world of which many of us can only dream.
